Things could have been so different if the Russians hadn't destroyed Warsaw and the Blitzkrieg experience just before I was due to launch my invasion. In the end the vastness of Russia was the key factor in defeating Germany's plan. By the time I arrived outside Moscow the city had a super garrison which. Even if I managed to defeat it the chances are a Russian counter attack would have immediately retaken it from the battered remnants of my army and Germany would have lain wide open for the Russians to take. It was heartbreaking to see the spires of the Kremlin but have to pull back

So much for reenactment of history I could only wish that Germany had enough forces for a push on Stalingrad and that I was playing this from the beginning. I wonder how long Italy will stand with this allied momentuum...

Who is Lenin?

You played very well Jerec. You really had me on the back foot when you made that devastating surprise attack on the Soviet Union. I do not know if you even know this, but you took out some of the major production centers of the Soviet Union in that attack, and I lost a lot of units that I had not rehomed. I was really only able to recover from that because McMonkey did not know his own strength and decided to retreat from the Soviet Union at the very moment he should have been finishing me off. Lucky me.

Bravo You made this game very interesting. I hope to play with you again in other scenarios.

It is Labor Day weekend here in the US, which means I get a three day weekend, which I wont be spending playing Civ. So this turn, along with most of the others will probably have to wait until next Tuesday. I will try to get TRON played though seeing as it is such a short turn and I don't want to hold the game up for everyone else.

It has become clear to Germany that it is fighting not only Britain and the Soviet Union for control of the Baltic Sea but also the United States of America.

WAR DECLARED!

To support our Japanese allies and to punish the US for their support of the British and Soviets we have attacked the US Navy in the Baltic.

One US Aircraft Carrier (+1 unit) and 1 Destroyer sunk as well as one Heavy Bomber shot down. One Heavy Bomber lost. The Kreigsmarine also sunk a Russian Destroyer.



We also struck at the British: One Aircraft Carrier with seven other units is sunk for the loss of a single U-Boat. We also sunk three British Battleships which had been anchored off the coast of Sweden for some time. Three U-Boats are lost in this attack. One British Destroyer is also sunk.



Elsewhere three Soviet Partisans are destroyed in Austria and Croatia.
