A Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko proposes this treaty to the bloc of NATO:



Naval National Security Agreement (as Proposed by USSR)

In order to ease tensions and ensure that national security of both blocks is not threatened in their backyards the following is proposed to the leaders of WARPAC and NATO:

1) Carribean Sea and the Black Sea are considered to be internal waters of NATO and WARPAC in terms of naval security. No foreign military ships are permitted in these waters.

2) The Baltic Sea to be partitioned into responsibility zones between military blocks to prevent unwelcome intrusions. Sections 139,37-139,39 are to be considered a naval border between WARPAC and NATO. No WARPAC military ships permitted in the North Sea.

3) Arctic Ocean to be closed to any foreign military power. Zone of control of WARPAC begins at the Norwegian border(143,1) and ends at the outskirts of Chukokta (19th Vertical). NATO zone begins at Alaska (20th Vertical) and ends with Hudson Straight (89th Vertical)

4) Bosporus Straight, Copenhagen Straight, English Suez and Gibraltar Channels are to be open at all times to allow commercial traffic.

In anticipaition of signing the agreement and as a jesture of goodwill the Soviet forces have been withdrawn from troublesome areas. NATO blockade of Soviet cargo ships have been lifted according to recent reports.

I mean that I get 0 points from Trade, but the 1 means that I would get 1 point for each traderoute.(Soviets and NATO get only 0,5 IIRC?)

Same is for tech, +2 for environment techs, -2 for military.

I copied this from Civilionauts post, since I think he means it like this, which was just a guess though, dunno why he put the 1 and +/-2 there.


Anyway, I understand the way I put it forward could cause a misunderstanding, but any misunderstanding is hopefully cleared up with this post!

I see. Thanks for clarifying that. Keeping up with the scores will take a little effort.

I started playing my turn on my parents six year old laptop but it seems to send the cooling fans into meltdown. I guess I don't have the patch to prevent this. If I can find the patch I will compete my turn tonight, if not I will have to finish it tomorrow. Its strange that I have never noticed this happening on my desktop pc's or my work laptop.

In Panama Marxist Guerillas (reportedly from Nicaragua) try to take over control of the countryside north of the Canal (sq 68,114). The Panamanian Government asks for US assistance. The US sends in an airstrike to break up the Guerilla's staging area. This allows the Panamanian Army to mop up the remaining Guerillas with relative ease.

While Premier Leonid Brezhnev takes a well deserved vacation at his Black Sea Dacha, the office of First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR is created with comrade Vasili Kuznetsov as the title holder, acting as temporary head of state of the USSR.

After reports of environmental damages in the DDR, First Deputy Chariman Kuznetsov promised that Warsaw pact members will recieve Soviet aid in cleaning up pollution.

Meanwhile, in the People's Republic of China, Socialism continues to progress.
