Corinthian thinkers discovered Colonization this turn but I was dismayed to find that none of my cities were yet large enough to send off any colonists. I just thought I would take this opportunity to reiterate the house rules (I had to double check them myself) This is not directed at anyone, I just wanted to make sure they are clear before we run into any problems!
Building Cities:
Cities may only be built on 'Colony site' terrain squares and can only be founded by the Colonist unit. If a city is established via a goody hut then it must be disbanded asap by building a settler type unit. While the unit is in construction the food surplus should be set as close to zero as possible to prevent the city growing to size 2.
Slaves, Engineers, Citizens and Colonists:
Colonists are the only unit that is allowed to found cities. They can work the land and join cities too.
Citizens are the only unit allowed to join a city to boost its size. Useful if you want to get it to size 6 quickly.
Slaves can work the land only. They cannot found cities or join cities.
Engineers are more efficient than Slaves but have to follow the same rules.
House rules RE; Colonization:
Cities can only be founded on Colony Sites by Colonists
Only size 6 cities can build colonists
Use the 'Colony Sites List' in the Read me folder to name cities
There aren't that many rules (compared with Rise of the Dictators) so we should be able to get them right
