My suggestion is for this turn btw, we may have to change things a bit next turn.
Any blue crosses you want to move/add/remov?

Rot = Diese Runde
Grün = Nächste Runde
I totally agree with the 3 red points you made, they must be covered this turn, but I would also like to cover the 4 remaing blue crosses on my map(we have enough units)
Why cover the entire coast btw? We only need to cover those tiles reachable from places outside our view.

That is unfortunately our whole coast.

In 2 turns we will have 2 more galleys there, which will lessen the need for unit-walls a great deal.

There will be lots of knights of course, some muskets/num.merc and I would not be surprised to see some 'special' units. Most likely one or more settlers.

Is there anybody out there ...
We've got 19 catas in the south. Time to move some of them north?
They are so slow we might as well wait for railroads

...
Dunno, I think they just kept the old ones and upgraded a few. Until recently they couldn't afford more units.

Ca. 10 Reiter, so 2-3 Schwertis, 2 Elefanten, paar Pikes, 3-4 Galleys
Here's a little horror story for you
Look at the pic and follow the instructions
This scenario suggest that we open up a save and find:
A landing force with several units(knights+muskets) and one settler at point 1 and a naval force waiting at point 2
This is a worstcase scenario btw.
First they found a city at point one, their cultural radius then allows them to attack wiesental directly with knights.
Then they unload more troops in wiesental from caravels waiting at point 2, among them another settler. The settler and all units are moved to point 3, then wiesental gets disbanded and a city is founded at point 3, now their knights will be within reach of ruhrpott even though they landed at point 1.
Far fetched you say? Not at all. This kind of settler use is a bit uncommon but apolyton has already used it against GCA, so we better prepare for it.
The trick is simply to have units available that can either:
a) kill all units that land or
b) cut the roads in front of them so they cant use their combat settler to take further cities.
I prefere Plan a) of course, but if we can't kill them all and there is a settler present we simply have to follow plan b)
There is of course nothing wrong with attacking them first, before the roads get cut, just to weaken their landing force. Just remember to save enough units for pillaging.

Apo kann an Punkt 1 keine Stadt errichten
Jo.
-> siehe hier
Dann bleibt der Worker da eben stehen
Oh well, they would have to raze eisgarten first then.Zitat von zerialienguru
Anyway, this was just an example of what is possible. There are several other sites where they can land a settler. I don't think we can cover them all, we can only cover those close to ruhrpott.
My point is that we need to be prepared to deal with combat settlers used like the one at point 3. We would need several small pillage teams on our own to deal with it. Groups of 3 would be fine
Not needed(or possible) this turn anyway...just something we need to remember for following turns
