    Roman Civil Wars

    FACTIONS:

    Senate: AI
    Syrian Legions: cupcoffee
    Gauls: AI
    Egyptian: AI
    Parthians: AI
    Spanish Legions: McMonkey
    Cisalpine: Ingvar

I think all the Roman factions have to be human controlled, the others are optional. Remember, the idea of starting this game is to have quick turns. If you don't think you can play quickly don't join

I'll take the Syrian legion. Might the Senate be a bit too powerful for a human player though?

The Senate, may the rebel generals be punished!

EDIT: On a second thought give me Cisalpine if Senate is too powerful.

Any Roman or Egyptians if all Romans are taken.
I'm a bit partial to the Senate though.

Also, should we have a rule that 12(Or 14 maybe?) hours after a turn is posted a player resigns his turn to the AI?

I haven't double checked who should go first. It might be worth checking out the read me before we start to see if there is a set play order or any house rules. If not then the first faction on the list should start up the game. Before you begin though lets finalize all the players and decide on any house rules.

"For the purpose of handicapping the more experienced players in a PBEM game ,or for greater challenge in a single player game, the Syrian Legions (Crassus) and Cisalpine Legions (Ceasar) are the most difficult to play. The Spanish Legions (Pompey), the Gauls (Vercingetorix), and the Egyptians (Cleopatra) are intermediate, and the Roman Senate (Cicero) and Parthians (Orodes) are the easiest."

I think we should change some of the reservations, I, for example, do not feel to be an "experienced" player yet.

These are all the house rules given: Pillaging stackable terrain (airbases) is not allowed. And you can't transport a fortress unit on a ship. That's just silly. I think we could add a few standard ones.

The Senate to start I believe.

Well, perhaps to limit the senate's ability to wield it's full power, from the start they are allied with all the legions so how about only the roman generals themselves can initiate a civil war between them?
After all, wouldn't the people of Rome become enraged with those foggy senators if they punished their own citizens without a reason?
This would be more in tune with the historic nature of the conflict, with the reactive senate trying to stave off all the opportunistic generals.

I will keep Cisalpine Legions unless someone wants to exchange them for spanish ones

Any more house rules to think of? Standard ones? No re-homing of trade units, nos ship chaining etc?

I could play as the Senate, I would actually prefer that to Egypt I think.

I personally believe the Generals should not have an easy time against the SPQR!

Probably better that. The SPQR has some senator units that count as victory points, but if the AI controlled them, who knows what stupid things they would do with them.
